    Bonjour Paris!

Hello everyone, I am so excited to be writing this blog from Roland Garros…which means I am playing in my first ever Grand Slam main draw!

This time last year, I was ranked around 250 and wasn’t even good enough to get into qualies and now here I am in main draw.

I am also relieved to be here because I nearly missed my flight! We had sent our passports away to get a visa and they came back much later than expected, so we had to move our original flight and I was having a heart attack that I would never see my passport again. Luckily on Thursday, I got the passport at 3.15pm and our flight was at 5pm so by some miracle we made it!

Until now I have only watched Roland Garros on TV so to be here is a dream come true for me…I remember seeing Ana win here a few years ago and just being so inspired by her and realizing that someone from our country had lifted the French Open trophy. The crowds were so passionate and it was great to see that so now I can’t wait to play in front of them.

My first round match will be against Daniela Hantuchova. She is a former top 5 player and has so much experience so for sure it will be a tough match. Until now I have only seen her play on TV but me and my team will be sure to watch some videos of her and get some tips. Playing someone like Daniela is also a great challenge to relish and I have nothing to lose, I won’t put any pressure on myself just go out there and play my aggressive game.

I haven’t played too many tournaments in Paris, just a few from juniors, but it is still one of my favourite cities in the world. I got the chance to go to the player party at the Eiffel Tower last night, which was an unbelievable experience!

Thanks for all your support and wish me luck!
