Jovana Reaches Final in Toronto En Route to 9-Match Winning Streak
Jovana continued her strong fall season form at the $50,000 ITF in Toronto last week. The surging 22-year-old Serb extended her winning streak to nine matches and was once again playing on the final day of the tournament for the second week in a row (after capturing the title in Saguenay).
Fatigue and a worthy opponent in Tatjana Maria, a top 75 player, proved too big of an obstacle in the final, however.
Buoyed by the support of her fans in Canada, Jovana found her game and departed for the U.S. feeling confident about the remainder of the season.
“Things really came together for me in Canada, and the winning streak was really fun and encouraging. The fans and atmosphere at both tournaments were really amazing, and I’m looking forward to giving me best effort as always and hopefully building on this momentum for the rest of the year and into the offseason,” said Jovana.
